My Mind is Racing

As I lay here thinking what to write about, I wonder if anyone is ever going to read this. Hopefully someone does and I can help someone get into the sport, or just help them learn a thing or two, not that I’m that knowledgeable. Anyway this is a little about me before we get to the meat and potatoes. So here it goes, ever since I was a little kid there has only been one thing I wanted to be when I grew up. A race car driver. I love cars, more than most people love anything, which is sad, for them. I can name almost any car I see in seconds and my girlfriend thinks I should work for the FBI. I laugh and think while that would be probably a good job, but its not really what I care about. Modern cars, with a few exceptions are people movers. Most people are stuck in the rat race, which oddly enough doesn’t have any racing involved, and that’s perfectly OK. For them going from point A to point B safely is all that matters. To me safety probably falls 3rd on my list, as I have gone faster on 2 wheels than most people ever will in their life. This blog isn’t about motorcycles though. So alas, what I care about is racing, Road racing, where cars turn left, and right, sorry NASCAR. My latest challenge when it comes to fulfilling my life long dream is, well, growing up. I learned the hard way that daily driving a race car is not practical or responsible. So I sold my WRX and bought a Ram 1500 Bighorn V8 4X4. A beautiful truck that my girlfriend loves and it has plenty of room for us to grow into. But, it can also tow a race car. Next step, other than saving money, is what car do I want? Stay tuned for the next post on Autocross and Car choices.
